My role as the Conceptual Designer in this project was to redesign the existing WhatsApp application for mobile and try to unify all the common functionality of the popular apps Facebook currently owns.
This was an experimental design based on things I thought needed improvements and what I would enjoy using as an everyday user of the WhatsApp Messenger application.
WhatsApp Messenger is a freeware, cross-platform messaging and Voice over IP service owned by Facebook. It allows users to send text messages and voice messages, make voice and video calls, and share images, documents, user locations, and other media.
The challenge I wanted to focus on, was to try to unify all the common functionality of the popular apps Facebook currently owns like (Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp Messenger) and focus on simplifying it's UI in the process.
This was a small personal project I did over a period of 4 days working on my spare time. Of course if I had dedicated more time into this project I'm sure there could have been a lot of improvements I could make, but this was not the goal here. The goal was to have a little bit of fun with no guidelines or requirements, purely a redesign of an app I use everyday.
